LONDON FASHION WEEK TRENDS SS18
London Fashion Week was held recently and as usual featured the very best of the capital’s leading designers showcasing their hottest Spring/Summer 2018 collections. Fashion Book watched in eager anticipation for the looks predicted to take centre stage next year on the high street and naturally we wanted to share the highlights with our customers. As wholesale fashion suppliers and manufacturers, Fashion Book prides itself on taking design inspiration from the catwalk when creating collections to resell to customers. We understand the importance of creating fashion forward wholesale women’s clothing that doesn’t compromise on quality or price. Shop our round-up of the hottest looks from LFW and ensure your customers are leading the trend next season.
Although knitwear is typically associated with the Autumn/Winter season, we saw plenty of designers showcase knits in their collections. Fashion Week favourites like Burberry and Pringle of Scotland added a touch of playful colour to their knitwear, a trend that Fashion Book have long pushed. Our knitwear collection features bold shades like this Daisy Trim Sweater in aqua as well as navy, wine and cerise. The sweater is knitted from a soft acrylic boucle yarn, making it light enough to wear next Spring with some tights and a cute mini skirt.
The tartan check has long been a quintessentially British fabric so often makes a regular appearance every London Fashion Week. Several designers opted to feature the popular pattern in their collections including Versus Versace, Burberry and Tommy Hilfiger. Much like the catwalk, Fashion Book has a tartan collection that ranges from the typical red and greens associated with the print, as well as more subdued patterns like this Tartan Dress which offers a more edgy take on the look with the leather finish on the sleeve and collar.
The floral print is a popular staple of the Spring/Summer season so it was little wonder there was touches of the trend at most of the catwalk shows. Newcomer Natasha Zinko and LFW veteran Mary Katrantzou both showcased beautifully feminine florals on the catwalk, similar to Fashion Book’s own equally popular floral collection. One of the hottest items from our plus size collection is our Floral Print off the shoulder Dress which comes in white and navy to suit different customer’s tastes. We love this look for special occasions like summer weddings and formal functions and with its soft jersey fabric and matching lace panels, the look is sure to be a firm favourite next season.
Being in a corporate environment doesn’t mean you should have to compromise on cutting edge fashion and style. Designers like Eudon Choi and Marques Almeida both went for oversized blazers and channelled the monochrome colour scheme seen at numerous catwalk shows. We too love the power dressing look influenced by leading female politicians so opt for this co-ord Peplum suit that shows you mean business at your next client meeting.
Designers are well aware that the warmer weather means that customers are looking for an extra special dress to turn heads during party season so the sequin trend was bound to appear regularly throughout Fashion Week. Models from Halpern, Ashish, Temperley London and Julien Macdonald strutted down the runway bearing skin in stunning fitted dresses designed to set pulses racing. Fashion Book has a fabulous collection of sequin dresses including this Slit Front Sequin Maxi Dress which with its exposed leg has the right balance of sexy elegance and outright glamour for a big night out.
